Meta Baptist Mission was established by the First Baptist Church of Pikeville, Kentucky, on June 29, 1958, in a four-room store building at Meta, near Johns Creek High School, with 48 people present.

Since then, we have grown in number and in faith. We have added on to our facilities over time as our church has expanded, including our most recent addition of the Family Life Center in 2012. We have also planted two mission churches - Brushy Creek Baptist Church and Kimper Community Baptist Church.
